We collect information you provide directly when registering or using our platform, including:

- Property purchase details including city, estimated price, and down payment
- Information about your real estate and mortgage professionals
- Referral source information
We also collect information automatically when you use our platform, including pages visited, time spent, and device type. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies or collect personal data.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Guide you through your homebuying journey
- Facilitate introductions to partner professionals (realtor, mortgage broker, lawyer, home insurance)
- Calculate and process cashback payments
- Send you updates and communications relevant to your transaction
- Improve our platform and services
3. Sharing your information
We share your personal information only with the licensed professionals directly involved in your transaction, and only to the extent necessary to facilitate that introduction. For example, when connecting you with a realtor, we share your name, email, phone, purchase city, and estimated price.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
If you were referred to HiveRewards by a financial advisor or other partner, that partner may be notified when your transaction closes. They will not receive your transaction details beyond confirmation of a successful referral.
4. TikTok and social media
We maintain a presence on social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. If you interact with our content on these platforms, those platforms' own privacy policies govern the collection and use of your data. We use TikTok's Content Posting API to publish educational content. We do not collect personal data from TikTok users through our content.
5. Data storage
Your information is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is stored on servers located in North America. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
6. Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
7. Your rights
Under PIPEDA and Alberta's PIPA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent to our use of your information (subject to legal and contractual restrictions)
- Request deletion of your information

8. Cookies
Our website does not use tracking cookies. Our analytics tool (Plausible) is cookie-free. Our portal may use browser session storage to preserve your journey state during a session only.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
